I meet Mogill over the past summer when he was hosting a roof top pool at the W hotel in downtown ATL via of his production company REBOOT. From an overall event execution stand point, I pretty damn impressed. DJ’s playing back to back, music cranking, beautiful woman, oh and did I mention my tickets to the event arrive via mail. I mean, not since the mid 90′s have I received event tickets via the mail and for me this brought be back to the another time and place. Ok, enough about my love of receiving event tickets via the mail. Let’s get back to the music. Mogill, whose sounds can be best describe as big room progressive house/electro house has certainly had a quick rise to success and has already tasted opening for some heavy weights like Manufactured Superstars, Kaskade, and MTV personality DJ Pauly D. In addition, Mogill and his team have just celebrated their 1 year anniversay playing at Havanna where they have had just about if not completely sold out events since it’s inception. Well. John Dahlbäck is one of the most underrated nanames in House music in my opinion. I remember reading about John four or five years ago in one of the European House magazines as a fast rising stars. While he faded off for a while, over the last two years he has dropped hit after hit after hit and I am not really sure why he hasn’t gotten his due, espcially since he has had more consistent material on beatport than the likes of Avicii or Afrojack etc. Well, with that said, I am it looks like Mark Knight and his “Toolroom Knights” is giving this Swede’s his due, letting him mix their new Mix compilation with over 38 carefully selected tracks alongside two superb mixes.
The album features 3 new exclusives by the man himself, the first being ‘Feel It’, a stomping tech groover with an unforgettable driving top-line. The other 2; ‘Heroes’ and ‘Escape’ showcase Dahlbäck at his harmonious best, blending powerful melodies with slickly produced beats for 2 sure fire anthems.
